My hope was to use this for landscape lighting, to replace a junction I had made using the traditional blue twist connectors. The problem is that the connection unit inside (a plastic unit with 8 openings to connect 4 wires screwed down into the box) is way too small in opening diameter to let much wire in. You can't twist two wires together and insert them to create a conduit to a light from the main circuit. it does seem to connect one wire to another, as long as the wire gauge isn't more than 16 (my best guess). Regardless, the opening is small and to me, not suited for landscaping wiring. I ended up taking out the inside connectors and using traditional twist on connectors inside the box. at the very least, I would be using the box and it would be a cleaner look. With all the wires in, now you have to line up the gasket and screw down the top plate. That's easier said than done when you are working outside with moderate gauge wires which pull the unit in different directions. To make things worse, the company provides you with a small screwdriver, which is probably meant to be construed as a bonus gift and a display of how hard to company is trying to please. Well, the screwdriver is a toy and is not even a Phillips screwdriver, even though all the screws are double slotted. So, it's worthless. Finally there are no instructions. And no way to reach the company. Granted, there isn't a huge need for instructions, but I'd rather have something than nothing, and i'd much prefer instructions to a worthless toy screwdriver.
