This is a mini box cutter that's more or less a direct clone of the Slice 50301 ceramic package opener with all the same pros and cons. It's got a magnet so it can stick onto your refrigerator and a tiny little ceramic blade that makes short work of most paper and plastic packing tape, while being dull enough that it's unlikely to cause an unintentional injury worse than a paper cut. These are neat gadgets, and as someone who opens a LOT of packages as a reviewer, it's something I reach for on a daily basis.I actually prefer a different design by Slice even more for my purposes - the Slice 10514 is a retractable design with a longer blade that's a bit more versatile. But that's not a universal opinion. This design has a major benefit, which is that it's incredibly unlikely to damage anything inside a package: if you're opening a package containing food, textiles or fragile items, this only protrudes a millimeter or two and shouldn't affect anything inside, while the 10514 has a longer blade that can get deep enough into a package to cause damage to the contents. So if you're looking for the safest possible option, this is it.I'm not a big fan of the keychain, but it was super easy to just discard that part and use the box cutter on its own. I wouldn't recommend using this on a keychain because it would likely slice some of the fabric in your pockets/purse/jacket/etc. if allowed to bounce around; the keychain might be useful if you wanted to hang this on a hook in your entryway or warehouse, though.Nice product, well made, recommended.
