This is a great breeding box/hatchery! I have both the medium and the large in my 36 gallon bowfront aquarium atm. I have used these successfully for guppy births and newborn guppy fry cannot escape. There is a slotted lid on the top to keep your fish from jumping out and to keep other fish from getting in. This is the perfect hatchery for livebearers as it has the separator grate for the babies to safely drop down into the bottom and prevents them from being eaten or attacked by momma. There's also a divider that can be used to make this into two units and it is definitely large enough for that! Nice suction cups keep it secured to the tank without issue and it is a floatable box, but I don't recommend that with this large size as it did have a tendency to turn sideways when I tried it. The third suction cup on this is a must have; it's a double sided suction cup to add a little space at the bottom of the box so fish can safely swim between the tank and the box without getting stuck. I'm currently using this and the medium sized one to grow out my baby mystery snails and it works great for that as well! Nice open slots in the sides that are large enough to clean the box by tilting it slightly in the water and rinsing it out, but not big enough for newborn guppy fry to escape! Overall these are great boxes and can be used for breeding, birthing, keeping newborn fry, baby snails, sick fish, and even housing aggressive fish for a little time out! Good quality hatchery and I'll continue using these in all of my aquariums! Highly recommend!
