I bought this specifically to put my yarn pieces in for the latch-hook project I am working on. I needed to keep them separated and organized since several colors are so close together. I liked that I could make the sections larger by removing the plastic dividers. Doing so gives the perfect amount of length for the yarn. Note that removing a plastic divider impacts TWO side-by-side sections together. There is no way to change that. If you removed all of the dividers you would have 18 separate sections to the box. The plastic dividers are fairly sturdy, and when in place do not wobble. The lid latches closed well, but as with all plastic closures, constant use will wear it out. The entire box is fairly sturdy, doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. It's not the perfect solution I was looking for, but it works well and I am pleased. It is versatile and could have many uses with having those removable dividers.
