I ordered this train case because it was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed to receive the wrong one not once, but twice! Since I could only exchange it once, I'm stuck with a pattern I don't like.So yes, I would recommend this, and yes, it is functional for me, but I'm not "in love" with it, since I didn't get the color I asked for. TWICE. And the one I'm stuck with is one of my two least favorites - the other one was what they sent me first.So - product=excellent.Customer service/quality control= grade of F-Still feel bummed every time I look at it because it's not what I asked for.Maybe it’s my fault for not checking dimensions but I thought it would be much bigger - overall and each compartment. But it is really cute and sturdy and I could get away with using it for a weekend getaway as long as I could put some products in smaller travel size bottles in the bottom.Initially I was disappointed to see that they shipped me a different color than what I ordered, but this design is cute too.However, after opening it, I found that the trays don't sit flat like they should. One of the metal hinges appears to be damaged.Even if the trays did sit flat, the case as a whole appears to be made of somewhat cheap materials; I don't think it would hold up well for rough travel.I plan on using this for makeup storage at home, and will use a different case for traveling.I'm kinda disappointed in this makeup case, I was hoping for something that could really stand up to the beating that I put on makeup cases. I don't think this would, It's not a bad case...It's just not sturdy in my opinion. I think it would be awesome for young kids that are just getting into makeup and need something pretty to store and organize their makeup collection in. It is for sure a pretty case, it has this antique sorta feel to it. As I said, it's not a bad case...it's just not the best fit for me.This is an excellent makeup case. You can fit a lot of products in it for personal use.This case couldn’t get any cuter ? Pink is and always will be my favorite and go to color ;) my daughter had been holding on to a makeup bag that was beyond tarnished and though it help sentimental value to her, it truly needed to retire. I was nervous about this makeup box but she got it and IMMEDIATELY lit up ? she stored ALL her makeup and a few small bottle of body mist in it =) it’s easy to carry (nice sturdy handle), has a compartment for just about everything, opens OUT for easy grab, and folds back in for secure storage. I love how strong this case is, keeps things safely put away and if it’s dropped I can rest assured her stuff will survive the fall. I was just telling someone about how the butterfly had kind of become my patron symbol and then I saw this makeup case, and it was like a sign from on high. I had to have it.It feels very sturdily built, and the latch definitely isn't going to come flying off on its own with a minor bump. I wouldn't go using it as a kickball or anything, but honestly, you'd have to hit the yard sales and find yourself one of those old fishing tackle boxes that last forever if you want anything sturdier!There's lots of space for organizing my makeup collection and even some jewelry, with space in the bottom for my makeup brushes and eye shadow palette.If I absolutely had to go out of my way to find a flaw, I guess the lock feels a little finicky? But I mean, it's no worse than the lock on my $300 Fender guitar case so I'm really not complaining here!This makeup train is beautiful, spacious and I love the Paris theme. I was able to take it with me on my week long trip. I took items for my hair, nails and other items. It comes with a key so you can lock up your precious things. The best part is that it’s sturdy. This is a must buy.
