I like the box. I gave it to my grandson on his 7th birthday as a “treasure box,” but as soon as he opened it, the brass plate around the keyhole fell off. Not one of the tiny screws held on. It was embarrassing for me and disappointing for him. Otherwise, it is nicely made and is attractive.We had the names of the bride and groom engraved and the date and filled it with 100 $1 bills folded into bowties. Great gift. They loved it.Nice box to store things in that you wouldn’t want miss placed or thrown away by accident. I got one for my brother who inherited a few little things from my dad. Nothing expensive. Just sentimental. Makes a great gift. Very well made too.I wanted to love this because it seemed a lot more solid than similar boxes. The locking mechanism is not lined up right and the key just flops around in the hole. It doesn't grab anything. I can manipulate the lock to try to close, but it doesn't fit into the lock slot in the lid. I then read other reviews that said same thing.Sent it back. Will not reorder.Some like the strong smell of watered down rose petals, but I am not a fan. Tried to let it air out and when that didn't work tried to wipe the smell away, but it appears to have seeped deep into the wood. The box is nice and would have gotten more stars, but I had to return it because the smell was unbearable.All goodBox is sturdy and a good size. Lock is ok.
