I got this box to house two 12V batteries and a solar charge controller. The box is very sturdy and functions as described. One thing that I wish I would've know is that if you are placing this battery outside, it is NOT waterproof. As stated in the description, it is IP54 rated, which basically means if this box gets rained on from above, it won't necessarily stop it.Fortunately for me, just drilling a couple small holes at the bottom allows the water to drain out if it does collect, and the items I have in the box can stand in a small amount of water.The only negative i'd have to say is that the screws used to hold the box together do protrude on the inside in certain spots taking away from the available storage space in some areas.This box is made poorly. They included a seal that you find on NEMA 4x boxes and the Stainless Steel which is corrosion resistant but it’s going to leak. The leak points are from the panel mounting bolts and sub-panel mounting holes. The mounting tabs are of very light gauge and are silly to even use them. If you stand the box on a work bench and push on the top of the enclosure the mounting tabs bend. When you mount the tabs and tighten the nuts the tabs rotate and have to be tapped back to square. The door latching mechanism is of very low quality. I expect the key will break in the lock. The accessories that came with the box banged around inside the box creating fiberglass dust from the panel. Not sure why the use a fiberglass panel instead of a painted mild steel panel.I love that this box is made of stainless steel and have a large interior to fit my needs. The box was to be used for holding electronics for my gardening automation project. However, after testing the locking mechanism I can no longer open the lock and both keys are bent to the point of breaking. Product will be 5 ⭐ if the locking mechanism works.Returning to Amazon ASAP.
