I travel a few times a year and hate leaving my animals home or trusting someone else to watch them. This travel litter box was the perfect invention for my situation! This travel litter box specifically is convenient because it will fit in a suitcase or backpack to store it. This travel litter box gives your cat enough free space and can hold enough litter. When the cat uses the litter box you can close the lid with a zipper to prevent leakage and control unpleasant odors. Also, it is easy to get in and out while maintaining shape through plastic construction. This litter box can be placed and transported on road trips, camping, off-road or hotels not for just typical traveling. They recommend using liner bags for easy clean ups and I definitely agree it made a little to no cleaning process for myself. When you aren’t using the travel litter box it is easily able to fold to put away. Overall, I definitely recommend this travel litter box and can be convenient on many occasions.This is the second portable box I’ve ordered for a long trip with my cats. I did not find the sides to be as sturdy on this as the first one, which was a different brand. They kept folding in, making it difficult for cats to use and me to clean it.Worked great for a cross country car move with 2 cats. I only wished there were handles to schlep it in and out of hotel rooms, but it still worked great. Zipper sealed up completely so no mess of litter when closed.I'm preparing for a likely cross-country relocation, and plan to bring my fuzzballs along with me in the back seat. I know that I'll need to give them "potty breaks" every bit as much as I'll need those along the way, and this is my intended solution to that problem.I've given it a "test-run" and they seem fine with it. Note, I use clay-pellet litter, which is heavier than some of the other alternatives out there, so this spread out nicely once filled with litter.The cats get harnesses when traveling, and get "leashed" before I take them out of the carrier, so I can set this up and let them use it when stopped, one at a time. It's not the biggest I could imagine it being... it's smaller than the "permanent" ones we have at home, by a lot. But it's good enough, I think. The trick is, to "scoop" at the same time. Take them out, let them use the box, put them back into the big carrier, strap them back into the interior of the carrier, and repeat for each animal. Then, once done, scoop and then zip up and store it away. (I then plan to feed and water them in their carrier before I get a bite for myself for the road and head out again!)It's going to be a big hassle, but it's far preferable to the trauma, risk, and frankly "loss of control" which putting them into an airplane cargo bay entails. (We've all heard the stories of animals killed by being forgotten or lost in the airport cargo facility, or being left out on a tarmac and "cooking," and I'm uninterested in putting mine through that!)So, a "travel litterbox" is a critical part of making this work, and this seems, as far as I can tell, to be the best option available to me. I love that it can be completely closed up, that it's large enough for them to use without too much complaint, and yes, that it's a relatively easy post-use cleanup (though I really suspect that the waterproof lining will not last more than a few trips!)My only complaint, really, is that... that the lining may not last very long (making the cleaning much more "challenging") and that the thing doesn't open "cleanly" (which isn't as much of a problem for the heavy clay I use, but would be a potential problem for lightweight litter).If it had a rigid frame which unfolded, giving it structure, it'd be great for ANY litter, but as it is, I have to knock a star off for it really relying on the weight of the litter to give it form... making it next to useless for the very light stuff I know some folks prefer.Great for traveling! works like a charm!This is a very good option when needing to travel with your kitties. Its just large enough to fit a smaller full size kitty. Its well made however its hard to hold it upright because the sides bend in on themselves. there is virtually no padding on the bottom and would benefit from an additional piece that could unfolded and be placed along the bottom. Its best to use a bag or trash bag to line it for easier cleaning. The zipper works well and holds the litter in just fine.For awhile now I’ve been thinking on how I would travel if needed with my cats. This came up and I was really excited. It’s a great size and it’s compact when folded. It comes with some bags for waste and also a small scooper. I keep this with their other travel bag and it all fits well together. Really pleased with this purchase and to have a quick option for travel instead of making something up.Very nicely designed and a functional portable litter box for cats. Can be folded down to a small footprint for storage or transport and when opened, it has a zippered top with an adequately sized bottom for enough clumping litter to satisfy your cat's needs.The construction is pretty robust and the zipper is strong. Easy to setup and use on the road.This is the perfect traveling accessory for your cat beyond food and water. Our cat instantly understood what it was for and with no issues.The included disposable bag roll and litter scoop are welcome additions.Overall, this will serve us well when traveling with our cat, and saves us the problems of trying to figure out how to get her to "go" where it can be managed.
