Way smaller than imagined. The drawers don't move smoothly have to tug to pull them out. Honestly not sure how ud use this as a sewing storage, cause drawers are very deep... but I don't sew either soooo..It is a great size for small items. I use it for smaller office items like binder clips, paper clips, rubber bands, and sticky notes. The description says pens and pencils, but just one type of my type of my pens fit diagonally. I didn't buy it for pen/pencil storage though so no issue for me. Measure for size before you buy to be sure will work for what you are intending to store. It is small, but the dimensions are listed. The wood is crude, but the description states unfinished wood. With a little sanding and painting it will be really cute. It is very lightweight, but made of solid wood and not a compressed material. Because it is made of solid pine I wouldn't describe it flimsy as other reviews have done. But, it is definitely lightweight - just know that up front! As the product description states, it is meant only for small light items. As mentioned in other reviews the drawers are a little sticky. I'm going to take the suggestion of one reviewer and use wax to make the drawers slide more easily. It is perfect for my office desk. I feel the item is a bit overpriced ($15.99 when I bought it) , but it was precisely what I wanted so maybe that is a tradeoff. Overall, I recommend the organizer. Keep in mind, though, it is small and lightweight.Better for paper clips and smaller itemsI bought two of these. The quality is consistent between them. If you put all the drawers in upside down in one and then rotate the whole thing, you can have a mirror image setup.I read some other negative complaints about these being small. They are true to the size listed: 7" tall, 8.75" wide, 3.5" deep.The drawers slide with ease, no friction or squeaks. They definitely optimized the design to make the drawer wood as thin as possible and maximize the storage volume. The finger slot is perfect for my ox hands to pull the drawer out.If you wanted to hang these on a wall, you'd need to do so without interfering with the drawer clearance.If you need a cute, small storage solution for a desk to toss paper clips, sticky notes, batteries, etc, etc in, these will do. I'm using mine to store random Arduino and other electronics in for my lab bench.If you need a kid's (or adult's) crafts project, where you have something usable afterwards (functional art), these would be perfect to sand and paint.Definitely an inexpensive product. Cheap wood, poor paint job, but it does the trick. Won't buy again.I really wanted to give this five stars as it’s exactly what I was looking for and is truly lovely. A couple of manufacturing rough spots that took some extra work to sand out- totally doable- required me to deduct a star. That being said, I knew I was buying an unfinished piece and expected some rough spots. The price and workmanship are pleasantly unexpected in today’s age of disposable, compressed and fake stuff. I’m enjoying finishing this piece and will keep this vendor in mind for future purchases and personalized, high quality and affordable gifts. The seamless construction is to be admired. I just hope I finish it well! Thanks to whoever took the time and effort to put this lovely piece together.It’s good if you don’t plan on using it a lot.
