I purchased this to “house” freshwater pearl earrings my mother in law gave me when I got married to her son. I wanted to give them to our daughter who is now engaged, so she could wear them at her wedding next summer. But, something that special couldn’t come in just any “box”. I needed THE PERFECT box.This was it, and served Justice to the sentiment. She loves it. Colors are stunning!It truly is a beautiful product. Visually spectacular.Two downsides are:1) the hinge is not good quality. It moves and doesn not hold the lid up2) there is no small mold to actually place a ring in so rings are held rigidly or even upright.However truly, beautiful piece which makes it worth it.It’s beautiful and perfect for the rings. Love it so much!The geode box is very heavy. The hinge for the lid seems to fragile to handle the weight. The lid itself does not provide a perfect fit to its base. It is such a deep shade of blue that it almost looks as though it will rub off on your hands. The only sheen to it is the glitter of the geode itself. Altogether, it is adequate as a small decoraccent but not something which could be used every day.Lid doesn't fit quite right hinge is very chintzy cheap quality and constructed poorly feels very fragile and is if it would break if used much at all not to mention looks ugly the product has little to no color but if you like plain whiteish then this would be the one otherwise I would not recommend and for the price I wouldn't purchase again either.This is actually even more beautiful in real life. It is well worth the price. I was stunned when I opened it. It's quite heavy, and just gorgeous cavern inside, when light catches it it just shines brilliantly. I think you'll be really happy with this. Using it as an engagement ring box is such a good idea I would have never thought of. I was able to fit a medium sized gumball shaped geode necklace in it with it being able to shut fully and properly. I am very thrilled with this.I used this to hold the ring when I proposed to my wife. Hinge was a little iffy, but she said yes, and she loved the ring and this "rock box".
