The unit is sturdy enough but the design is such that if you flush mount it you cannot fully open the lid. I had to put spacers behind it to get it off of the wall for full operation. It’s also NOT water proof. I have it mounted to the exterior side wall of my garage door, away from direct moisture contact and the personal checks that go into it get wet. Be aware.
