The magnets are sufficient to keep the lid in place. Nice wood. Reminds me of Teak.Box compartment pieces were measured wrong and your only able to use 3 compartments instead of 4 because it made the middle bend and would take the other piece of wood i sent the seller a message but never heard from themLove it! Very nice!It didn’t meet my expectations at all based on the item description and the reviews. First, when I ordered, it was described as bamboo, in both the description and customer reviews. It looks like cheapy press or fiber board, poorly sanded and thinly sprayed with a darker wood tone than the pics give the impression of. The inside shows the cheap material it’s made from, as there’s no finish except for the messy overspray from the outer finish. I went back to be sure I wasn’t remembering wrong, and now it says it’s made from beech in the description, while the other reviewers say bamboo, like I remember. I could be remembering wrong but I don’t think so? The edges have an excess of fiber buildup from the mediocre sanding job that wasn’t properly cleared away before the finish was sprayed on, so there are parts around the edges and over the magnets that are really gummed up looking. One part on top of the lid has a super shiny oil spot that stands out from the otherwise smooth outer finish and won’t rub off. The wood groove in the lid for the rolling tray is so rough that unless you’re using a thick leaf wrap, the rough wood on mine is sure to tear standard rolling papers. It also has a few nicks near the corners and the magnets are inset all wonky and covered with fiber and finishing spray. I started to scrap them clear just to be sure they WERE magnets and not just a dowel, as they do nothing whatsoever to secure the lid to the box. Even at a very slight tilt, the magnetic hold breaks. I expected a ready to gift item that I could fill up with goodies but I’d feel cheap giving this box as is. I do plan to keep it though, as it’s better than the cardboard flat that my father in law is currently using as a stash box, lol! I’ll sand and paint the inside, file the wood down around the magnets to hopefully give them a better hold and try to get off the oil spot with some rubbing alcohol or something. Once those things are done, I think it will make a nice enough gift box to hold other goodies but not the quality wood stash box I was expecting to give as the main part of his gift. I would not buy again unless I want another project piece. I know this is a pretty critical review, which I hate to do but I wanted to give others a better idea of what to expect. I will say though that the dovetailing is done well and has a seamless fit, which leads me to believe that the box itself will hold together well and not fall apart. So there’s that;)The box is really high quality, the inside matches the outside. The notches and grooves are really clean and the dividers slide in and out with ease. It’ll be perfect for jars, lighters, and such.Box arrived in great condition. The fact that the walls adjustable walls rests comfortably on the floor of the box actually fit on the floor of the smaller areas was just what I was looking for after I returned a previous box. I can’t speak for if it’s smell proof as that’s not what I’m using it for but it is a nice color and no one suspects anything about itThe seller personally reached out to me a few days after receiving the item to make sure the box arrived without any damage. Overall happy with my purchase and the initiative of the sellerDidn't expect much because other boxer were priced higher. But it's good quality, well made box.I had an issue with my first box, was going to stay quiet about it. Company Owner emailed me to make sure everything was ok. I told him, and he sent me a replacement. Amazon sent me the wrong design. I let Ricky know, bam, couple days later, the right box shows up. Beautiful design, beautiful stain, works like a charm. Lids arent too good on the old model, so I use those for crafts, but the box is great. Magnets hold strong, which was my worry. would DEFINITELY do business again.
