This is a very well made black aluminum project box but it carries a pretty steep price tag, so you better have some gold-plated circuitry to go in it... Some of the other boxes from this company are more reasonably priced but not this one. Just in case the pictures aren't clear, the two pieces clamshell together (not slide) so you can remove the top 2 screws at each end and take off the top cover without disturbing the end plates or the bottom cover. The end plate screws are on the short side for something so pricey - longer ones would make the end plates more secure and give a better final result. The external heat fins are really more like teensy tiny little ridges so it's questionable how much they can help. I'm using mine for a power supply so I'll be putting in a big grill-covered hole in the top. Mine arrived wrapped with so much soft foam that it was completely un-dingable by any known delivery service; a welcome change from the usual practice of just throwing the item into a plastic bag for shipment.
