I’ve never pinned a bug before, but my boyfriend found a nearly dead butterfly on the side of the road. I made him comfy til he passed and ordered this kit to pin him. It’s a mediocre product.Just for me, and it being my first bug, and how many pins I got, it’s fine. But I would definitely not gift this to someone, the window is a very flimsy, thin plastic that’s held in with visible picture frame style brackets. So it shifts easy as well. The rest of the box is okay, not spectacular. It keeps closed fine. Nothing spectacular.I do think it’s overpriced, you could get a shadow box from a craft store for 1/4th the price, foam and needles for a buck each. But, if you’re willing to pay extra for the convenience of it already being together, and you’ve never pinned a bug before and you’re okay with it being on the lower side of quality. It’s not bad, it still looks very nice and I think it’s a good start to a new hobby.Everything else is great, the foam is smooth, but it arrived with a nasty break in the back. The packaging was fine and didn’t show any damage, though. The plastic window is covered in tiny scratches like other reviews mentioned. It’s my first display box and I know I’ll get by fine but it’s still a surprise to see the damage to the back.Plastic top not glass and it fell apart when I opened it. A bit a glue and it’s fine. Will get something else later and throw this away.I bought this primarily to use for a decorative insect display, not a scientific one. The foam appears to be good quality, and so do the pins. The wood is light weight (probably balsa,) and is painted black, so you'll have to prevet black flecks from getting in the display. The box is not built and cut to have a fitted lid like a typical entomology display box, it's cut straight through. The hinges and are a little flimsy, but I don't plan to open it again. I might even seal it shut since the lid isn't fitted (it's decorative, but I still don't want my specimens and display to soil or decay.) What I'm actually upset about, is that the description says the lid has a clear glass top. It's not glass, it's thick plastic, it's scratched, and it's fixed to the lid like a picture frame. You get what you pay for, though, and I'll make it work. I'm just going to cut and fix my own glass piece to it. I think this would be better suited as a jewelry box rather than an entomolgy display. I'm sure it'd be good for kids just getting into insects, or trying it out, but not for someone taking it seriously. I'll dish out the extra money for a professionally built case next time. This was a great display case for the money spent. My son used it to display his bug/insect collection. The plexiglass was scratched all over. The wood in the photo is white. It came “distressed”. I would have returned it, but I was in a rush. The "clear top" arrived horribly scratched up as a sturdy though not without bending plastic sheet, it'll need to be replaced. For the price and the method used to ship it, in a bag, I expected more. The color is as described. Box is light weight, pins were included. However, overall, much disappointment in this box when I could have purchased a larger, actual glass, shadow box in black over this without the kid play foam insert which is easily acquired and cut to fit on your own for cheap.Product arrived as described and looked just like the photo but doesn’t seem overly sturdy. Hinges and top seem delicate and could break easily. Did come with all the mounting pins now we just need to catch some bugs.Muy cara y el material muy sencillo ni siquiera es vidrio es una mica que se ralla. Si pueden no la compren
