The connection box may work great for simplex cable, but additional waterproofing is necessary. I had to slice the gasket in order to feed duplex LC cable, and switch out the SC couplers for LC couplers. Once that was done, and some silicone was applied around the ends and gasket, this makes for a pretty decent enclosure that should withstand water. It is not brittle and clamps down with quite decent force. I would get this again to patch together OS2 cable in a pinch.
